History

For over 60 years, Chaney Enterprises has been determined to make an impact in its markets and communities through philanthropic leadership, charitable giving, and sound environmental stewardship.

Chaney’s founder, Eugene “Babe” Chaney carried a spirit of entrepreneurship, hard work, and philosophy to support each other and the community, driving Chaney Enterprises’ culture and success to this day.

Shortly after Babe Chaney passed away from cancer, his son, Dickie took over the company and rallied the Chaney family and employees to fight cancer together, launching the first ever Annual Chaney Bull Roast, now a hallmark of Chaney’s charitable giving.

In 1987, Dickie and his brother Frank formed the Eugene Chaney Foundation in their father’s honor, formalizing the company’s commitment to philanthropy. Since then, Chaney has granted millions to nonprofits supporting education, health, human services, the environment, and the arts.

Today, under new leadership and guided by the company’s purpose of being built on passion, that legacy continues through Chaney Cares. Led by Chaney family members and fellow community members, Chaney Cares is determined to elevate the company’s giving, volunteerism, and community engagement.

Through Chaney Cares, we aim to build foundations that:

  • Harness the full value of our rich history of charitable giving and community leadership
  • Engage and inspire our employees through deep connection to our mission and partners
  • Leave a lasting impact on families and communities we serve
  • Attract and retain top talent
  • Lead our industry by example
