We’re seeking up to 18 volunteers to assist Junior Achievement of Central Maryland with their BizTown event on March 2! Upon registering, please make sure to request Volunteer Time Off in Paycom and get it approved by your manager.
Junior Achievement (JA) helps prepare today’s students for a bright future! One of their most popular events, BizTown, is an event where fourth through sixth grade students take a field trip to a simulated town full of real-world businesses. This popular learning experience allows students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are selected for a “job” and take on the role of a real-world professional, connecting the dots from what they’ve learned in school.
As a volunteer, you’ll guide students through the day, offering your firsthand knowledge and expertise to enhance their experiences. Each day, a team of 15-20 volunteers helps students have a meaningful JA BizTown experience. JA staff are also on-site to lead the simulation. Online training is required prior to your JA BizTown visit. In addition, volunteers arrive early on simulation day for hands-on instruction.
